Royal Editorial consists of two professional, full-time freelance editors based out of Toronto, Ontario.
I’ve been providing freelance editing services for indie authors for 5 years now. My qualifications include an undergraduate degree in English literature from the University of Toronto and a Certificate in Publishing from Ryerson University—through the Ryerson program, I’ve also received a Professional Development Award in Children’s Publishing. I’m here to help you with all your editorial needs, from structural editing to proofreading. Over the years, I’ve worked on a range of projects including short stories, novels, self-help books, and academic papers.
My specialties are fantasy, science fiction, and horror, as well as middle-grade and young adult fiction. I am also the co-host of the writing podcast Story From Scratch.
I hold a certificate in Creative Book Publishing from Humber College. I got my start at Owlkids, one of Canada’s most iconic children’s publishers. After two years of writing and editing non-fiction content for three distinct age groups, I moved on to LexisNexis Canada, where I copy edited law resources for Lexis Practice Advisor, their practical guidance platform. Whether you’re explaining echolocation to a three-year-old or legislative changes to a practising corporate lawyer, I can make sure your message is communicated with precision and style.
During these years, I spent my off time editing novels—my true passion—on the side. In November of 2018 I became a full-time freelance editor working primarily with indies. I work in all genres (erotica included) but have a special fondness for all things fantasy and sci-fi.
